Personal Notes:

I came from a very athletic background, swimming, dancing, basketball, softball, lacrosse, and running. I did not start cycling until I was about 8.

My dad started to take me to his races and I saw boys my age racing, I thought to myself, I could do what they do. At the time I didn't even know how to ride a bike. I learned how to ride a bike on 2 foot, bright pink Barbie bike, which my dad removed the training wheels. I practiced going up and down my street. Once I mastered the Barbie dream bike, I got a mountain bike we bought at a neighborhood yard sale. From then on I've been riding road bikes.

It wasn't until last year when my mom finally thought it was "safe" for me to race. Last year I only did about 3 races and I was not sure of what I was doing. This year was a lot different, I got a coach, Robin Farina, and I got a lot more serious about racing. I have a fantastic support group who has helped me learn so much in just one year. I work at Uptown Cycles in Charlotte. I have learned not just bike skills but life skills as well there. My goals for the next year is to upgrade my category in the beginning of the season, get some great results, and promote female junior cycling. I am very excited to be racing on Team Kenda for 2010!
