Personal Notes:
I was introduced to cycling at Indiana University while participating in the IU Little 500. My dad bought me a bike for my birthday and I have been pedaling forward ever since. I did my first triathlon in 2003 and that same year completed my first Ironman. Since then, I have completed 5 Ironmans, countless 1/2 Ironmans and multiple aventure races.
In 2007, I became a member of an elite adventure racing team and I continue to do 12-24 hour races in the off season. Adventure racing has become a great way to work on my bike handling skills and relentlessly pushes my body to the limits. It has broadened my skills to mountain biking, rock climbing and kayaking and provides an avenue to explore the path less traveled.
I was introduced to the local "group ride" in 2006 and noticed a strong improvement in my bike splits during my triathlons. Biking has now become my favorite of the 3 sports and I have found myself sampling the local bike racing scene and loving it. I am your typical gear head and I love my zipp wheels and power tap. I love looking over my ride data and found my power tap to be so uselful that I went through the cycleops indoor power instructor certification last winter and teach mulptiple classes throughout the off season .
Long course triathlons will always be my passion, but I am excited to incorporate more road and mountain bike races into my 2010 season.
